Monedas del nuevo cono monetario caen en desuso

Dar vuelto o cambio en monedas resulta no ser necesario. Con la falta de efectivo la movilización del dinero ahora se agiliza de manera virtual. El pago con tarjetas bancarias inunda las operaciones en comercios y los bancos se saturan de transacciones que antes giraban en billetes.

Sin cumplirse aun el año de la circulación del nuevo cono monetario de Bs.10, 20, 50, 100 y 500 en monedas, y de 500, mil, dos mil, cinco mil, 10 mil y 20 mil bolívares en billetes, el uso de las piezas deja de tener peso para las operaciones comerciales. 

Los comerciantes aseguran que las monedas conocidas en enero, incluidas las vigentes desde 2008 de la familia de bolívares ordenadas en la política de reconversión monetaria, de Bs. 0,01; 0,05; 0,10; 0,125; 0,25; 0,50 y de uno, perdieron poder transable.

A la que se suman los billetes de dos, cinco, 10 y 20 bolívares. Son piezas que ni el sector del transporte público acepta como canje por el servicio. Los avisos en las unidades advierten la negativa de reconocimiento de pago en dinero de bajo valor.

Para María Botelo, comerciante, recibir monedas en pago por la venta de conservas, confitería o café es sinónimo de que “cuando le pague al chofer de tráfico las tirarán por la venta. A ellos les da rabia que les paguen con lo que no tiene valor”.

Asegura que la presencia de más billetes aminora la presión en la demanda de efectivo de los comerciantes, más en quienes no cuenta con dispositivos electrónicos para pago y compras de bienes de bienes y servicios. “Uno toca el billete de mil bolívares y dos mil. Esos son los que más se ven”, destaca.

La utilidad de los billetes de la familia de bolívares de 2008 tiene marcador en conteo. Y es que desde 2016, el Ejecutivo prorroga -por hasta 10 veces- la validez del “marrón”. En la Gaceta Oficial número 41.240, según decreto 3.086, el presidente Nicolás Maduro ordenó la última medida. 

“Se prorroga hasta el 20 de noviembre del año 2017, sólo en el territorio venezolano, la circulación y vigencia de los billetes de cien bolívares (Bs. 100) emitidos por el Banco Central de Venezuela”, ente emisor que controla la política financiera en el sistema bancario nacional.

Los economistas advierten que frente a la crisis económica ningún billete podrá soportar la carga inflacionaria. José Guerra, diputado y exdirector del BCV, recomienda medidas para mitigar la escasez de efectivo. Propuso en septiembre convertir el billete de 100 en 100 mil bolívares.
