Un nuevo desborde del río Rímac inundó hoy varias calles y zonas del distrito de San Juan de Lurigancho, el más grande y poblado de Lima con más de un millón de habitantes.
La región Lima ha registrado dos fallecidos y 2.739 damnificados por las inundaciones, y además tiene 9.550 personas afectadas por la emergencia climática, según el último reporte del Centro de Operaciones de Emergencia Nacional (COEN).
En la zona de Carapongo, en San Juan de Lurigancho, los pobladores han colocado bolsas de arena para evitar que la inundación dañe las bases de sus casas, pero el desborde del río ha llegado hasta la avenida Malecón Checa y Campoy donde muchas familias han quedado aisladas en sus casas.
Asimismo, otro tramo del río se ha desbordado en la zona de Huachipa a la altura de las céntricas avenidas Ramiro Prialé y Circunvalación, vías de intenso tráfico pesado y transporte interprovincial.
Ante los llamados de ayuda de los pobladores a los medios de comunicación, la Policía Nacional está en la zona ayudando a la gente a cruzar en medio de las torrenteras, ayudados por sogas y carros policiales.
Asimismo, en el distrito de Chaclacayo, al este de Lima, el puente Ñaña fue cerrado al tránsito, ante el incremento del caudal del río, para evitar que la violencia del agua rompa sus bases, como ocurrió ayer con un puente peatonal en San Juan de Lurigancho.
Precisamente, en Chaclacayo, el caudal del río Rímac se ha llevado un tramo de la vía del tren a la altura del kilómetro 24 de la Carretera Central, muy cerca al transitado puente Los Angeles.
El tren y la carretera comunican a Lima con las regiones del centro del país que abastecen a la capital de alimentos y otros productos.
A nivel nacional, las intensas lluvias e inundaciones han causado 62 muertos, más de 62.000 daminificados, 170 heridos, 7.974 casas colapsadas y 19 colegios derrumbados.
